L and I are Live Blogging WWDC 2008

I’ve never been to a WWDC conference and probably never go, I don’t think they usually invite theologians. But they should. Anyways, I want to give a “driver in the back seat” perspective on the conference. So L and I are going to listen to other live blog posts, and then we’ll post our commentary here.

Check back to this post and refresh constantly.

10am — It looks like people are getting seated. We’re wondering how much radiation is in that room due to every person there with atleast one laptop, an iphone and some other cellular device.

10:04 — oh no worries, they’ve got Gore on the environmental impact team.

10:06 — L drank 2 small bottles in the time it took for all these people to get seated.

10:08 — MacRumors writes 3 parts to Apple now — Mac, Music (iPod, iTunes), iPhone. Not true, there are 4, they’re missing the fan boys.

10:08 1/5 — OMG - Steve Jobs is on stage. He’s looks smaller than I expected from where we’re sitting.

10:10 - L thinks the snow leopard sounds snuggly.

10:18 — currently a lot of jargon that we don’t understand, something about education using iphones.

10:20 — Live audio here - thanks rhetter.

10:24 — MacRumors “Creating a basic Cocoa Touch application called Nearby Friends” I wish I just had some nearby friends.

10:25 — Wow, this is really boring. L looks like she wants a nap.

10:26 — Thank God, is that Steve back on stage?

10:26 1/2 — No I guess it’s not.

10:27 — Hey dude, you’re verizon phone is ringing. That’s really uncool.

10:32 — Can we get on with it? I just came to see pictures on the new iphone, that I already saw on tuaw.

10:39 — L is going to take a nap during all this BS.

10:41 — OMG! Is that guy on a sony vaio?

10:41 — Does anyome even use typepad anymore?

10:45 — Enigmo is lame. What’s an exceleramator? (sp)

10:47 — https://loopt.com/loopt/sess/index.aspx looks cool, now i can stalk friends easier.

10:48 AP app is the new twitter. I am going to update all the time.

10:53 — Just adjusted my post times to reflect the present and not the future.

10:54 — Eeverytime people laugh in the audio my daughter starts to wake up.

10:55 — inside source tells mr Jobs isn’t even there anymore, he’s at the pub down the street drinking.

10:58 — Just put L down to bed, now it’s time to type with both hands!

10:59 — iphone band is going to take air guitar to a new level.

11:00 — For while you’re not paying attention to the presentation http://wwdc.twistori.com/#wwdc

11:01 — Haha - look what this guy wrote: rickyjordan: If any of you get word of a 3G iPhone announcement….make sure you give us a tweet!

Are you kidding me? Maybe they’ll be one person who writes about it on twitter, since you asked…

Dude, that’s exactly when twitter will crash. Stay here for updates, we won’t crash.

11:05 — http://twitter.com/tonysteward said “Let’s hope all the app demos are just keynote foreplay…” No joke. Even still, I’m not aroused.

11:08 — Whoa! Wait, there are more languages than English?

11:08 —MacRumors: Steve is discussing new features in the iPhone 2.0 software. First, contact search with live searching. Second, full iWork document support. Third, complete support for Office documents (Word, Excel, and now PowerPoint). Fourth, bulk delete & move for messages. Fifth, the ability to save images you get. Sixth, a new calculator with scientific mode when you rotate the iPhone. Seventh, parental controls. Eight, tremendous language support.

Nine, It now weighs 3 pounds. Ten, the CIA knows where you’re at all the time.

11:10 — I’m clapping too.

11:11 — Just got word that we have more traffic than the MacRumors site right now. Good job everyone!

11:14 — I didn’t laugh at that.

11:17 — Is that guy still talking?

11:17 3/4 — I wish I had a penny for everytime exceleramator (sp) was mentioned in this stevenote.

11:18 — mobileme.com is Steve Job’s Mini-Me

11:19 — You can not only find out where to eat with google maps on your iphone, you can eat there too! Right through your phone.

11:29 — Could I just borrow someone’s iphone when I want to do this stuff?

11:31 — He’d have 100% satisfaction if he gave them away.

11:33 — Dang it! I could hear what he said, everyone was screaming!

11:40 — A lot more cheering now that steve is on stage. The flush headphones on the iphone was the only thing I really wanted.

11:44 — Lots of people cheering.

11:45 — The price of the iphone made everyone really excited. I couldn’t hear how much? Did he say $3,000?

11:46 — Wow iphone is $199, I can’t believe how much of a markup they had on the original ones. Shoot, now I could even afford one, sort of.

11:47 — YES — TWITTER IS DOWN AS PREDICTED http://twitter.com/home

11:53 — The sort of means: if I can only convice my wife! Probably not till next year.

11:54 — Thanks all for reading and commenting. Add any closing comments below. Was this all you hoped for?
